Actually

If someone can explain to me what's happened with this site and IE, they're more than welcome.

Music

Just a little update on what is going on musically with me right now. Trying to get more writing work, and working on Mode 7 stuff has absorbed pretty much all of my time for the last six months or so, so there's been no new music. Sorry about that. I'm also still trying to finish a novel I've been writing for around six years (I have the productivity of a small, tired snail) so that's what's happening in my "downtime".

If you come to Truck, you'll hear an exclusive set which is likely to contain a smattering of Determinance music and then...some special things....so if you're hankering for new material then that is unfortunately the only place to get it for the time being. Get to the tent early if you're coming - I'll announce the time closer to...the time.

I have some grand plans for another release which are forming in my mind. If humanly possible, I'd love to start working on that as soon as Determinance (the game) comes out in around August/September, and get it out by the middle of next year. That's probably a bit ambitious, but it can't hurt to have something to aim for, and I really should do some new stuff to take things in a different direction.

Absolutely brilliant

Apologies for reblogging MusicThing, but really. REALLY. This is so amazing.

Deadlines (something like a phenomenon)

You can read a feature by me in this month's Edge if you're the kind of person who does such things - it's entitled New For Old, and it's on the development of games for retro systems such as the wonderous 3D0.

Next month's Computer Music will contain a tutorial on snare drums as well as that Plaid interview, so be sure to look out for that one.

Also there's been a lot of activity on the Mode 7 blog of late, and Mode 7 itself has been consuming most of my attention, so if you'd like to keep tabs on my "progress" you should go over there.

Meeting Kieron Gillen last week was significantly enjoyable - being highly-successful and also a nice person is something to which everyone should aspire.

TODAY is crunch time for my laptop over at Millennium Music. I have been offered either a concrete deadline for its repair, or a replacement unit - I can only hope that the process goes smoothly and results with me actually being in possession of an object capable of making music. Who knows?

Keep on Truckin'

Just submitted a song for the Truck Festival Compilation - also another track I worked on for the Evenings Remix Album should be emerging soon. Go to Freedom Road and check it out, if your inclination is in that direction.
